more things to watch for when joining a gym

 bad repairs
 DUST!
 Broken stairs..
 broken equipment signs
hanging pads..
Clocks stopped...

broken nets..

broken safety cages..

Torn pads on equipment...

yes, those are 100 lb dumbells on the floor..

more equipment in my way..

really? exposed wires?...
To be fair, I realize every gym has a different personality. every gym I have joined has had something I like about it and some things I don't like but that is just me.you may join  a gym for the aerobic classes, you may join for the cardio equipment, or you may want to flex in the mirrors or be a power lifter and enter strong man contests or maybe you just want to improve your health so that you can spend more time with your grandchildren.
Before spending you hard earned money to join a gym look past the shiny chrome equipment and make an informed decision... get a free pass and use it  before signing up. If you can join month to month to avoid signing a contract Do it! My experience is nice new gyms last about one year before they begin to get run down,  so a one year contract is the max I would sign. also pay up front to save a few bucks.
